Common Questions.

Everything you need to know about our infrastructure and services.

General Questions

A server is a high-performance computer designed to process requests and deliver data to other computers over a local network or the internet. Unlike a personal computer, a server is built for 24/7 operation and high reliability.

A virtual private server (VPS) is a virtualized server that acts as a dedicated environment on a physical high-performance host. It gives you full root access and your own resources, but at a fraction of the cost of a dedicated server.

LXC (Linux Containers) share the host's kernel, making them extremely fast and lightweight with near-zero overhead. KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) offers full hardware virtualization, providing a dedicated kernel and maximum isolation for production environments.

Yes, every single product at InstantNode comes with enterprise-grade DDoS mitigation included. We protect your services against common attack vectors automatically.

Network & Locations

Our core infrastructure is located in the Netherlands (Amsterdam region). The Netherlands is one of the world's most connected hosting hubs, providing ultra-low latency to Europe, the UK, and North America.

Our hosts are connected with up to 10 Gbit/s redundant uplinks. Each virtual server typically receives a 1 Gbit/s burstable port.

Yes, every server (KVM & LXC) at InstantNode comes with its own dedicated IPv4 address. We do not use shared NAT-IPs for our primary server products.

Privacy & Data Protection

Yes. Our infrastructure is located in the Netherlands, strictly adhering to the European General Data Protection Regulation. Your data remains within the EU jurisdiction at all times.

We follow the principle of data minimization. We only store the metadata necessary for billing, technical stability, and security. We do not monitor or log the content of your servers or your individual network traffic.

Absolutely. We highly recommend enabling Two-Factor Authentication (TOTP) in your profile settings to protect your account against unauthorized access.

When you delete a service, the associated data is immediately wiped from the host system for security reasons. This process is permanent and irreversible.

Security Infrastructure

Our servers are housed in Tier 3 data centers with 24/7 on-site security, biometric access control, and continuous video surveillance. Only authorized senior technicians have physical access to the hardware.

Our management network is strictly isolated from the public internet. We perform regular security audits and keep our host kernels and hypervisors patched against the latest CVEs.

Cloud Servers (LXC & KVM)

LXC is ideal for Linux-native applications, web servers, databases, and microservices where performance and instant boot times are critical. It uses resources very efficiently.

Choose KVM if you need to run standard Linux distributions or Windows with strict hardware-level isolation. It is the gold standard for production environments.

Yes, you can upgrade your CPU, RAM, and Disk resources at any time through the dashboard. Upgrades are applied with a simple restart.

Dedicated Servers

A Dedicated Server is a physical machine exclusively reserved for you. There is no virtualization layer and no shared resources. You have 100% of the CPU, RAM, and Disk power at your disposal.

Most dedicated servers are provisioned manually to ensure perfect hardware configuration. Setup typically takes between 1 and 2 days depending on the chosen model.

Billing & Refunds

InstantNode operates on a prepaid basis. You top up your account balance using our supported payment methods and use this balance to deploy and renew services. There are no hidden fees or automatic bank withdrawals.

Yes. Refunds under the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal always go back to your original payment method. Paid, unused balance is also refunded on request - for example when you close your account - minus payment fees actually incurred; promotional or bonus credit cannot be paid out. Refunds for partially used services are usually granted as panel credit. Details are in our Payment Terms.
